UPN WALL LAMP

A series of cast aluminum wall lamps, as an extension of the UPN 200 project. Each piece tells its own story through unexpected curves shaped by the cooling process. A formal exploration where chance becomes identity.
As a continuation of the UPN 200 project, I explored a new typology: the wall lamp. This extension allowed me to question the industrial standard in a different way, by introducing new constraints related to weight, wall mounting, and the shadows projected onto the surface. Here, aluminum casting becomes a language in itself. Each lamp is born from a mold, but more importantly, from a living process. The molten metal solidifies and reveals unexpected curves and singular undulations, drawn by the material itself as it cools. These traces are not corrected, but celebrated. They affirm a raw and sensitive aesthetic, like a silent imprint of time frozen in metal. The choice of aluminum, lighter than steel, makes it possible to revisit the original standard while addressing new technical requirements. Moving from extruded profiles to cast forms opens a field of formal exploration, a dialogue between industrial precision and organic unpredictability. This family of wall lamps extends the reflection on the boundary between technical object and sensitive piece, between series and singularity. It invites us to consider light not just as a function, but as a revealer. Each reflection, each shadow tells a story unique to the piece, making every lamp one of a kind.
