JIGSAW

Rethinking the plastic casing of a jigsaw, at the intersection of ergonomics and industrial production. The form guides the grip while simplifying airflow and dust management.
With this project, I explored plastic injection molding and its industrial logic, using the jigsaw as a field of experimentation. Here, the plastic housing is not just a decorative shell, but a technical envelope that structures, protects, and guides the hand. Designed to simplify the overall form while refining the grip, it redefines airflow paths to better manage dust, creating a constant dialogue between use and fabrication. The technical overview drawing reveals the overall balance: proportions, volumes, and guiding lines. Each part fits with millimetric precision, respecting draft angles, assembly tolerances, and structural strength. This invisible rigor shapes the functional accuracy of the product. The 3D rendering becomes a key tool for guiding material and finish choices. Colors help differentiate functions and highlight grip zones. Here, the handles and buttons are deliberately oversized, reinforcing a more intuitive ergonomics and a more immediate, almost instinctive, user experience.
